Vista WildBlue is Lennar's enclave in the WildBlue masterplan, built along Lake Vista on the Fort Myers and Estero line. At 225 acres, the lake is big enough for a ski run and small enough that nothing is far away.
If your homesite backs onto the water, you can build a private dock behind the house. That's the difference between owning a boat and using one. No trailer, no ramp queue, no loading the car before you can get on the water.

What You Can Do on Lake Vista
Lake Vista permits:

That's a wider range than most private lakes in Southwest Florida allow. Plenty of communities advertise a lake and then restrict you to electric motors or paddle craft. Here you can pull a skier in the morning and paddle the same water at sunset.
The lake runs 225 acres of clear freshwater over a limestone bottom, with a community boat ramp at the WildBlue Sports Club for anyone without waterfront frontage. Homes sit along Lennar's Executive, Manor, and Estate collections, most with either preserve or lake views.
What 225 Acres Gets You
Size is the other half of it. Lake Vista sits between the extremes: large enough to open the throttle and pull a skier, small enough that you're never crossing open water to get anywhere. That middle ground shapes what makes sense off your shoreline.
* Wake is present but manageable. On a bigger lake, a dock takes steady loading from traffic all day. Here it's real but lighter. We still brace and fender for it, though the structure doesn't need the same margin a fully exposed shoreline demands.
* Distances are short. You're minutes from anywhere on the lake, which changes how people use their boats. Quick evening runs are common rather than half-day outings. That favors a setup you can get in and out of fast: a reliable lift drive, clean boarding, and lighting that makes an after-dark return easy.
* Shorelines are more sheltered. A smaller lake means more of the perimeter sits out of the prevailing wind. Sheltered frontage is kinder to a floating dock and to anything moored rather than lifted.
* Everyone's a neighbor. On 225 acres you recognize the other boats. It's practical as much as social. Docks here tend to get built to a visible standard, because everyone on the lake sees them.
The limestone bottom is the same story as the rest of WildBlue. These lakes were quarried before they were filled, so pilings may need to be socketed into rock rather than driven. We assess the bottom before quoting, because rock depth varies lot to lot.
Planning a Dock Around Your Build
Vista WildBlue is newer than much of the surrounding area, and a good share of homeowners here are thinking about a dock while the house is still going up or shortly after moving in. That timing is worth using.
* Before the lanai and pool cage go in. Getting equipment to the water is far simpler across an open lot than around finished landscaping and a screen enclosure. If your build is still in progress, tell us early and we'll plan around your schedule rather than working against a finished backyard.
* Match the house, don't guess at it. Railing profiles, post caps, and deck finishes look better chosen alongside your exterior selections than picked a year later from memory. It costs nothing to coordinate and it's obvious when nobody did.
* Structure now, lift later. You may not know what boat you're buying yet. That's fine. Pilings and the dock structure go in once, and a lift bolts on when you've decided. Sizing the structure for a lift you'll add later is much cheaper than retrofitting for one it wasn't built for.
* Run conduit while it's easy. Dock lighting and lift power are straightforward during construction and a nuisance afterward. Even if you're not adding either yet, putting the conduit in now keeps the option open.
If your home is already finished, none of this is a problem. We build on established lots constantly. It just takes more care getting equipment to the shoreline, and we plan for that at the site visit.
Common Questions Before You Call
Can I build a dock on my lot?
If your homesite is on the water, yes. Waterfront homes in Vista WildBlue are permitted a private dock, subject to architectural review and county permitting. If you're on a preserve lot instead, the community boat ramp is your route to the water.
Do I need a lift, or just a dock?
A dock alone is enough if the boat lives on a trailer or you're mainly paddling. A lift makes sense once the boat stays in the water. It keeps the hull clean, prevents waterline staining, and saves a ramp trip every time you go out.
How deep is the water at my dock?
It varies along the shoreline, and it matters more than most people expect. Water depth determines which lift type fits and how far out the structure needs to reach. We measure at your lot rather than assuming.
Where does my dock have to sit?
Within your own frontage, and within whatever setbacks the community and the county require. Those limits shape the footprint before design even starts, which is why we check them at the site visit rather than after you've fallen for a layout.
Can I add to it later?
Usually. A well-planned dock leaves room to add a lift, a PWC port, or extra decking without rebuilding the structure. Tell us at design what you might want in five years, even if you're not buying it now.
How long will the whole thing take?
Most of the calendar is approvals, not building. Design takes a week or two, architectural review and permitting take considerably longer, and the build itself is measured in days. We tell you where the waiting is before you commit.
